Join us on this date for our bi-monthly gardening program. Our special guest will be Master Gardener Carrie Hunter. Her talk will be on "Preserving the Garden Harvest through Fermentation."
Carrie will cover what fermentation is, why and how it is done, and then she will do a short demonstration and possible tasting of various fermented vegetables. Since she was raised on a farm in Illinois and her parents were both 4-H leaders, Carrie and her siblings learned how to garden, cook and show livestock at the county fair.
Carrie became interested in fermenting about four years ago and has been making kraut and other fermented foods ever since then.
